Find Mode, under your control
Find Mode is enabled by default. Its green status button lets you stop listening whenever you need privacy or lower battery use; inactive mode is gray and remains off after you close and reopen the app until you enable it again.

Does recognition require internet?
No. The wake phrase is recognized entirely on the device with an embedded offline model.
Will it work when my phone is muted?
Find Mode uses the alarm audio stream and temporarily raises its volume for the response, then restores your previous setting.
Does it listen when the phone is locked?
On Android, Find Mode runs as a microphone foreground service with a persistent notification and partial wake lock, so it is designed for lock-screen and background use. Device battery policies can still affect long-running services.
Can I turn Find Mode off?
Yes. Tap the green “Find Mode active” control in the app. It becomes gray and stops microphone listening. That choice is remembered when the app closes, so Find Mode stays inactive on the next launch until you tap it again.
How do custom activation phrases work?
Free Find Mode uses “Hey Cat Phone.” On Android, Premium lets you create a 2–4 word phrase from: hey, cat, phone, kitty, find, me, wake, up, hello, and sleepy. Examples include “Hey Kitty,” “Wake Up Cat,” “Find Me Kitty,” and “Hello Sleepy Cat.” Unsupported words are rejected before saving so they cannot replace the working phrase.
Can I change the sleeping animation?
Yes with Premium. Choose Calm Breathing, Dreamy Sway, or Cozy Pulse. The orange circle remains still while the cat itself moves smoothly.
Is Premium a subscription or separate app?
Neither. Premium is a one-time in-app purchase inside the same Cat in Phone app. It unlocks personalization; the complete core phone finder stays free.
Can I restore Premium?
Yes. Use Restore purchases in the app while signed in to the store account that originally bought Premium.
